5 Reasons to buy the 2015 Honda Odyssey

5 Reasons to buy the 2015 Honda Odyssey
At Smart Honda, we’re proud to offer the 2015 Honda Odyssey to not only our Okemos customers, but surrounding area drivers as well. If you’re looking to buy a minivan, then look no further than the new 2015 Honda Odyssey. This comfortable minivan has a lot more to offer than one might think. Here are the top 5 reasons you should buy a 2015 Honda Odyssey:

 1. Superior Safety

The 2015 Honda Odyssey is among the safest vehicles on the road. In 2014 the Honda Odyssey was the first minivan to earn the Institute’s top safety designation for good performance in all five IIHS crash evaluations. The Honda Odyssey has all the safety-features bells and whistles you could need. Standard on all models is a rearview camera system, an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), a Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control system, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), brake assist and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

2. HondaVac

Messy kids? Shedding Dog? While only available on the Touring Elite model, the HondaVac is a built-in vacuum cleaner that is stored in the back of the minivan. The hose is long enough to reach the front of the car allowing you to easily clean up those every day spills from snacking in the car. The HondaVac includes two attachments to make cleaning up even easier. We think it’s definitely worth the upgrade just for this nifty tool.

3. Nimble Handling and Performance

With a car-like foundation and better handling, the 2015 Honda Odyssey has the performance and power that is not typically found in a  minivan. All models come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission which gives it confident acceleration and passing, and enough power to head up mountain roads fully loaded.

4. Spacious Interior

With seating for up to 8 passengers, there’s tons of space for everyone in the 2015 Honda Odyssey. The second row can be used as three seats that can be adjusted to each side to allow for easy movement through the cabin. If you’re not looking to carry a lot of people, but need space for cargo, then the Odyssey has you covered. The second-row seats can be removed completely and the third-row seats can be magically tucked into the rear cargo area.

5. HondaLink Infotainment Suite

Drivers don’t have to worry about upgrading to a nicer model if they want a good entertainment package. Want Bluetooth and Pandora Compatibility? These features come standard on all models and on the EX models and higher HondaLink with an audio touch-screen comes standard too.

Drivers in Okemos, MI and surrounding areas can stop by Capital Honda to see why we think the 2015 Honda Odyssey is one of the best minivans and cars on the market. Visit us for a test-drive and to speak with one of our Honda Certified Product Specialists about the 2015 Honda Odyssey.

Car Brand Awards

The Kelley Blue Book is most well known for its informative and data-driven information pertaining to vehicular values, but the firm does a lot more than that. Case in point: Each year, the KBB gathers data supplied by its online shoppers to present the Brand Image Awards, given to companies which go above and beyond in terms of public perception.

This isn’t just a quick poll or online survey based on how someone feels at that moment. These awards are given based on extensive research gathered throughout the year. The key research vehicle for the Brand Image Awards, Kelley Blue Book Market Intelligence’s Brand Watch study, is an online study that taps into more than 12,000 in-market new-vehicle shoppers annually who do their research at KBB.com.

This year Honda made the list twice, winning the Best Overall Brand and Most Trusted Brand.

KBB’s new car buyers also found Honda to be the Most Trusted Brand, the survey determined for the third year in a row. “The brand is known for building reliable, efficient, safe cars that offer a lot of value when new, and hold that value as used models,” KBB explained. Further, Honda doesn’t have any major recall controversies surrounding it like Toyota or General Motors do at the moment, either.

This year marks the second consecutive year that Honda has sat in the Best Overall Brand throne. “Considering Honda has also won the award for Most Trusted Brand among non-luxury shoppers three years in a row, this win isn’t a huge surprise,” KBB.com said. Hondas are well known for doing many things well — they are efficient vehicles that offer refinement, comfort, reliability, and build quality.

Why Certified-Preowned

Not so long ago, buying a used car was a dicey proposition. Actually, it still can be.
But it is so much easier now to buy a used vehicle that is in excellent working condition―and to find one whose reliability will allow you to sleep at night. Part of the reason for this is the emergence of the pre-owned certified car market. As these cars grow in popularity, more and more groups are getting into the picture. Car dealers and third-party companies are now joining an area that was once the domain of vehicle manufacturers.
Every Honda is a product of innovative engineering and quality manufacturing. And only well-maintained Honda models that are less than six years old and have a maximum of 80,000 miles are eligible for certification. The certification process includes:
  • A thorough multi-point mechanical and appearance inspection, performed by the dealer, to ensure that each used vehicle meets Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle standards.
  • Honda-trained technicians scrutinize all major vehicle systems, including brakes, engine, drivetrain, steering, suspension, tires, wheels, exhaust system and vehicle interior and exterior.
  • Dealer technicians recondition any component that does not meet our standards.
  • Any component that cannot be reconditioned is replaced with Honda Genuine Parts.
  • A limited warranty that covers engine and transmission components for up to 7 years/100,000 miles.

Benefits of Ownership

Buying a Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle is a smart choice. Only well-maintained Honda vehicles that are under six years old and have fewer than 80,000 miles are eligible for certification. The program includes many other benefits that a private seller just can’t match, like a thorough multi-point inspection conducted by a team of Honda-trained technicians.

Why you should choose a Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle

Every Honda is a product of innovative engineering and quality manufacturing. And only well-maintained Honda models that are less than six years old and have a maximum of 80,000 miles are eligible for certification.

2016 Redesigned Honda Pilot

The 2016 redesigned Honda Pilot is looking to be THE family vehicle. From constantly checking how well child-safety seats fit in vehicles to how sane they keep Mom and Dad, the 2016 Honda Pilot was at the top of the list. The 2016 Honda Pilot has axed its hard edges: it's once again a smooth, capable family wagon, one that raises the bar for refinement. The Honda Pilot was a pioneer in the race to reformat rugged SUVs into something more prosaic, more useful--more liveable on a daily basis. When it was new in 2003, the Pilot got the driving height and all-weather traction of the SUV right, and wrapped it in an airy Honda-like body with lots of seats, superb visibility and, truth, frumpy looks.
From a Blue-Ray player to an HDMI port for gaming, the Pilot appears to have plenty of electronics to keep children of all ages occupied for hours. The Pilot also offers plenty of USB ports, some being powerful enough to charge iPads. Parents can also enjoy many entertainment options, but may be more excited about all the available storage in the Pilot. The center console is much larger than the old Pilot and can easily hold a large purse. The smaller cubbies throughout the vehicle make storing childrens things convenient as well. The cargo area is also impressive with its significant amount of under floor storage. There’s a reversible cargo panel for dirty stuff like soccer cleats and beach chairs—and this cargo well behind the third row can hold an 82-quart cooler. Capri Sun for
everyone!

Have you seen America's most popular minivan, the Honda Odyssey?

Looking for a vehicle with innovative features, lots of practical space, smart safety features and can fit the whole crew? Then you should add the Honda Odyssey to your shopping list.

Named “Best Buy of the Year” by Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com, the Honda Odyssey has earned numerous awards and accolades from U.S. News, Autobytel, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. And more. No wonder it’s America’s Most Popular Minivan.

The Odyssey presents solutions to life’s many challenges. Versatility is what you will find with the spacious interior. And seating options. This is what we all need. More options. Not less.

The second row has added flexibility with a seating position called “wide mode” in which the outboard seats can slide 1.5 inches to each side. How’s that for extra wiggle room? The multi-function second row seat (on the EX and above) seat back folds down to reveal three beverage holders and a tray for small items, another must for those longer road trips. And the center seat contains the LATCH anchor system mounts for a child seat. It slides forward 5.5 inches, allowing the child to be closer to the adults and providing better accessibility.

The third row-van seating creates a number of combinations of cargo storage solutions utilizing its one-motion Magic Seat®. Simple to operate, the strap operates the seat storage with just a tug. And the seat literally stows itself. The storage well behind the third-row is yet another spot to store cargo.

Plus the walk-in feature gives you easier movement throughout the cabin.

There’s more to the Odyssey than just where to sit. There are the features. The 2016 makes sure life is kept convenient, easier. From HondaLink which keeps music, media and information in one easy to access place on the easy to read info screen to the ultrawide 16.2 Honda DVD Rear Entertainment system, there is something for everyone. Even the Cool Box (EX-L and above) that keeps your drinks and snacks chilled for the drive...

The 2015 Honda Civic: Renewing a Classic

The Honda Civic first went on sale over 40 years ago, making it one of the best known cars on the road. The latest iteration of the Civic received several updates over the past few years keeping it in tune with the market.

The Civic was remodeled in 2013. The interior was refreshed, additional features were introduced including noise insulation, and the suspension was retuned for comfort. In 2015, the Civic remains nearly unchanged after updates to the top-trim infotainment system last year.

The exterior of the current Civic sports some handsome designer touches. Up front, several styling features mimic the Accord’s face: the black honeycomb mesh grille, new “open-mouth” lower bumper, integrated fog lamps on high-line models and new clear lens cornering lamps. A chrome finishing bar in back and rear bumper design dresses up the clean lines of the Civic.

Inside, the two level-instrument panel was left and the finishes and surfaces were refreshed. A soft-touch vinyl was added to provide comfort where hands and elbows make frequent contact. Front seats are roomy. However, rear seat passengers might find space a little tight according to reviewers.

Refinement carries over to driving and riding experience. A higher-strength steel and stiffer side pillars provide a smoother ride while thicker glass for both the windshield and front side windows and added soundproofing provide reduced road noise...

8 Cool Things You're Going to Love About the 2016 Honda Pilot

It’s been generating a lot of buzz. The redesigned 2016 Honda Pilot made its grand debut at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show and turned a lot of heads. And with good reason. Sure, it has sleeker styling and a revised powertrain for better fuel economy and power. But there are some nice family-friendly extras that have been worked into the details, making this midsize SUV standout against the crowd and gives it even more practicality and versatility than before.

Reversible cargo floor
Yes, there is a significantly larger cargo area behind the third row seats. But the nifty part is the reversible cargo floor. Carpet on one side; a more durable, rubberized surface on the other. With one easy flip, you have your choice of an easier to clean surface when there is need to transport dirty gear. Or a day at the beach. Underneath the storage area, the floor is also trimmed with the same rubberized plastic surface.

Active safety features
The 2016 Pilot was fitted with a suite of Honda Sensing active safety technologies including blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and a rear-cross traffic alert. Expect these features to be available as an option package on the higher-trim versions of the 2016 Honda Pilot.

Engine start/stop
A newly available engine start-stop system will be available for the first time as Honda is targeting best-in-class fuel economy for the 2016 Pilot and its new 3.5-liter V6 engine. This system will be offered in versions of the Pilot that are equipped with 9-speed automatic transmissions.

Panoramic sunroof
Passengers in the rear can get some extra sun thanks to the Pilot’s optional sunroof that stretches over the second-row seats. While the glass-panel is fixed, it does have a movable shade and there is a traditional sliding sunroof over the front seats...
